A new kitchen for Anita and Rob

“I would just like to say once more how thrilled we are with our new kitchen.

From Dianes’ design work on paper to the end product, the service given has been top notch. It seemed I had only to mention something to you once and it was done !!!! (even to Diane remembering the kitchen towel rail I wanted). Thanks for all the extra running around and for your endless patience.

Although our kitchen area is small, you have made it so functional and light that it feels bigger and I actually don’t mind cooking a meal in it. Please give our regards to all the tradesmen who visited and who were all so attentive to their jobs. Nothing seemed to faze them. In the meantime, good luck for the future and I hope you make a lot more people happy with new kitchens.

Cheers, Anita and Rob.

Brief:- This whole project started with thinking of a extension or conservatory, as they had a growing family.

The main points for this project were –
Light and airy.
Space for entertaining.
Space for cooking and people to watch
Space for a large range cooker..
Space to eat in the kitchen.
Separate dining area.
Different materials.
Lots of storage.
Clean , practical.
Budget 15 – 20K

I think we met all the criteria , Rob was a keen cook and did most of the cooking , but he didn’t want to be tucked away cooking while any guests were in another room , he loved it if people joined him at the breakfast bar and chatted to him.
Rob wanted a large gas range cooker , for the maximum cooking facilities. We put stainless fronted pan drawers either side and it seemed to extend the cooking area , giving it a more commercial look.
Rob loved steel.
The idea of the conservatory instead of an extension was because of the amount of light that would flow through to the existing kitchen.
Anita wanted a nice garden room to feed the baby , and enjoy the view of their lovely garden.
The house was an old house and the kitchen was served only with 1 window and was a little dark.
The whole think was completely renovated , underfloor heating was installed so that the conservatory would be lovely still to be able use in the winter.
There was also radiators because this was a large area.
The whole project took around 3 weeks.
We took care of everything , another company did the conservatory , but we worked very closely with them so we could project manage all the electrical , plumbing works. did all the flooring , tiling , all the decoration.
It turned out to be a really smart , homely kitchen a lovely practical area to work in and relax in after a meal.
