Vlicho project

“Hi Diane. Thank you for the flowers it was a lovely gesture and I guess typical of the fantastic service you have provided throughout the whole kitchen renovation process especially in a foreign country. From our contented silence you can safely assume that we are highly delighted with our new kitchen, the whole renovation project ran smoothly due to the professionalism of the team.

We would however especially like to thank you for your design expertise, clever and creative ideas. Without your encouragement we would not have been as brave in our choices of materials and bright colours but these choices have resulted in the creation of a whole new look for the kitchen and we love it!

We would also like to pass on our thanks to all of your tradesmen and suppliers, it was a pleasure to deal with every single one of them, at all times they have been nothing but professional, highly competent and helpful.

We will certainly be recommending Diane to anyone who is looking to renew or build their kitchen and wish you all the very best.”

Richard & Norma.

The Brief:-

Light and airy.
Good use of colours to reflect on living in Greece.
Colours important to suit the house.
Different reflective materials.
Accommodate a Large fridge / freezer.
Glass Display unit.
Functional.
Large oven.
Price budget 20-25,000 Euros.

I met Richard and Norma , when they had just started building the house. The position was stunning looking over the Bay of Vlicho.A scottish couple we got on from the beginning.
We had a couple of meetings to get everything right.
The colours I suggested were very different for them , but I think reflected the island perfectly.
The mediterranean gloss blue mirrored the sea.The Creme accent gloss units were fresh and were a lovely relief for the blue.
The worktops were Richards choice , we had to let him have some imput! he loved the quartz – engineered stone tops in Lemon , the gloss on these tops matched perfectly with the unit doors , Richard was very impressed the installers came 6 hours from Athens to do the job.
There were polished on site, seamless.
A touch of stainless with the fridge , the large 90cm oven,a streamline 90cm ceramic hob made it all very clean lines.

Norma wanted plenty of storage , an open shelf was a good idea ,but Greece is dry and dusty , so we put a Tambour roller door over the tall open shelves , ideal for keeping clean, but great storage.
Norma also wanted glass display units , the frosted glass meant they could be kept tidy , but practical.
